New Orleans Musicians Come Together for Beastie Boys Tribute
This Friday, April 1st, members of the New Orleans musical community will come together at Tipitina’s for SABOTAGE, a tribute to the legendary Beastie Boys. Tickets are available here!Members of the tribute include Jermaine Quiz (Jealous Monk), KC O’Rourke (Flow Tribe), [email protected] Peoples ([email protected] Peoples Collective), Michael Fouquier (Gravity A), Andrew Meehan (Gravity A), and James Martin (Trombone Shorty’s Orleans Ave). SABOTAGE will feature full band versions of classic Beastie songs, focusing on Licensed To Ill and more of their greatest hits. Fronting the live band will be Jermaine Quiz, [email protected] Peoples, and KC O-Rourke. The multimedia experience boasts theatre-like sets, video projections as well as numerous costume changes.Quiz says, “The Beastie Boys were a legendary group which transcended genres with their unapologetic and explosive take on hip hop. We aim to try and harness some of that raw energy and attitude for our performance.”This will undoubtedly be a wild show that will get you head-bobbing and dancing.
